My First Encounter with English

My first encounter with English was in primary school. I didn't understand a single word the teacher said, but I remember feeling intrigued by the sound of the language. It sounded so different from my native tongue. At that time, I couldn't imagine myself speaking English fluently, but the seed of curiosity had been planted in me.

My Struggle with Learning English

As I progressed through secondary school, I had to study English as a mandatory subject. The textbooks were full of grammar rules and vocabulary words, which made me feel overwhelmed. Moreover, my pronunciation was terrible, and I was embarrassed to speak in front of my classmates. I would often forget what I learned the next day and had trouble with reading comprehension. I felt hopeless and thought I would never be able to learn English.

My Breakthrough in English Learning

One summer, I decided to challenge myself and enroll in an English immersion program in the United States. At first, I struggled to communicate with my host family and classmates, but as time went by, I started to realize that I could understand more and express myself better. I made progress every day, and it was a significant confidence boost for me. It was the first time in my life that I had been fully immersed in a foreign language environment, and it was a game-changer for me. When I returned home, I continued to practice and improve my English skills with the passion I had never had before. In conclusion, learning English was not an easy task for me, but it was an enriching experience that broadened my horizons and opened up many opportunities for me. I learned that perseverance and continuous effort are key to success, and I will never stop improving my language skills.
